NABVETS held its National Convention in Seattle, WA during October 9—11 2008

From all indications, the National Convention was a major success! The event offered several presentations and workshops to include Claims, Chapter Development, VIMS (Veterans Information Management System), Recycle 4 NABVETS, SNOLS (Shop NABVETS Online Stores), Women Veterans Issues, Legislative Issues, Center for Minority Affairs, Aces Museum, Managing Finances, and other excellent presentations.

Veterans for Common Sense Files Class Action Lawsuit to Force VA to Assist Veterans Faster

In July 2007, Attorneys at Morrison & Foerster LLP  filed an unprecedented national class action lawsuit alleging “shameful failures” by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs  and other government institutions to care for those veterans who have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan and are now suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  Read more…

Women Veterans Health Care Improvement Act

U.S. Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin introduced, on November 7, 2007, the Women Veterans Health Care Improvement Act, a bill to expand and improve VA health care services for women who have served, particularly those who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (OIF/OEF). Veterans’ Mental Health and Outreach and Access Act of 2007
